“ For context, I am very picky with Viet food because I was born and grew up overseas in VN. By far, this is the best Vietnamese restaurant I've encountered in the South Bay Food: 1)bánh canh--amazing! Broth was as thick as it could be (and how it should be) 2)bánh khọt--light and airy! Their accompanied dipping (fish) sauce though was unique and just a perfect addition on top of the banh khot 3)bún thịt nướng tôm--perfect balance of noodles and proteins (shrimp, bbq pork, eggroll) 4) bonus: Thai tea--refreshing and very strong flavored. Tea on the bottom and you mix it up and you get authentic Thai tea (to me at least) Ambience: Beautifully crafted decor that reminded me of my time living in Saigon The servers also wear the traditional đồ bộ aka outfits you would see in the countryside of vn Service: Great service, very attentive. They're a bit short staffed but it wasn't a big problem for us. ”
“ danggg, influencers really can boost a restaurant's views. lol we decided to come here after seeing someone rave about their food and we're fans of banh canh. So on a Saturday afternoon, we went for lunch. Small wait, seems like only one hostess/waitress and another bus boy. Big parties dining in. she told us there would be a bit of a wait for food, as they were behind, luckily we were catching up and talking, so didn't mind. But noted that they forgot our apps a drink so we had to tell them. We got our mains before the apps but that's okay. we still wanted it. We ordered: banh khot - ooo hot and fresh, so crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. I didn't expect coconut but maybe I was thinking of a different item. It was tasty. MM! cha gio - crispy and well filled. large banh canh - perfect to split 3 ways. it was good, it wasn't super flavorful but it was good. solid choice but not much crab. bun rieu - clean tasting, okay. not bad. overall, I was super satisfied with my meal. We took our time and it was good. Probably a mom and pop shop, seems like a lot of regulars come here, so glad they are supported! they're all very sweet. just a tinyyy bit slow. ”
“ This place has become a favorite of ours. Tucked inside the small commercial center next to 85C Bakery, it'd be easy to walk by this small restaurant. However, their food is amazing. Their banh xeo is so tasty. Also, they're one of the few Vietnamese restaurants that still offer shredded pork over rice. But what makes this place even better is their very hard working server. We have seen him handle all the tasks all by himself the few times we visited. Yet he's always smiling. Hope his bosses treats him well too. ”
“ In love with the banh khot! So crispy & loved pairing it with the fish sauce! I had dreams about it as well, lol. The place is medium sized and I can see it being extremely busy during peak hours so plan accordingly! The menu is a good range of pho, vermicelli, rice plates, etc. I opted for dry noodles since I was in the mood to try something new! The sauce was a spicier than I thought it would yet sweet at the same time. The pho is SO delicious and gives me such nostalgic vibes from college! I'd definitely come back! ”
“ Is the restaurant kind of hard to find? Yes. Could the interior use a little upgrade? Yes. Could the service be better? Yes. Despite all that, the FOOD is worth it! Super delicious! Vietnamese aunties in the back slinging out food. It might take a while to come out but the food is worth it. So don't come starving, come prepared to wait a little bit and you'll find it worth it. ”
“ We ordered the banh canh (#1) large and it was certainly large! They packed it with plenty of noodles and a reasonable amount of meat. Should have been a bit more in my opinion especially since it's nearly a $5 upcharge. The broth comes out thick but as time goes on and you get through the bowl, it starts to thin out. The banh khot in my opinion was a little lacking. Not much flavor, and one piece I got was a little more pasty, and felt slightly undercooked imo. But then again everything tastes better with a bit of fish sauce. ”
